What is NTC Thermistor? NTC Thermistor, also called Negative Temperature Coefficient Thermal Resistor, whose resistance varies by temperature change and which are one of the most commonly used devices for the measurement of temperature. Thermistors are majorly made up of metal oxides - manganese, cobalt, copper and nickel. While temperature rises, the charge density and moving rate of metal oxides increases and makes conductivity increases; resistance decreases, for that thermistors respond negatively to the temperature. Their resistance decreases with the increase in temperature, also each specific thermistor has its own unique resistance vs. temperature characteristic.
